Mercedes-Benz has been building the GLC for a decade, and in that time it’s become the brand’s global bestseller — the model that quietly pays for everything else. So when Stuttgart decided to build an electric one from the ground up, it wasn’t a science project. It was the company betting its most valuable nameplate on something entirely new.
The all-new electric GLC is the first Mercedes to wear the brand’s redesigned illuminated grille, a reinterpretation of one of the most recognizable faces in the car business. Inside, an optional Hyperscreen sweeps the full width of the cabin, a panoramic roof can switch from clear to opaque at a word, and 162 stars glow overhead after dark. Mercedes calls the feeling “Welcome Home,” and for once the marketing line actually lands. This isn’t a compliance EV. It’s the GLC, rebuilt.

The GLC’s cabin is where Mercedes makes its case hardest. A single sculpted trim element sweeps from the center console into the dashboard, merging the two into one continuous piece, with ambient lighting underneath that makes it appear to float.

The headline is the optional 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, the largest continuous display Mercedes has ever fitted. Over 1,000 individual LEDs give it real sharpness, and zone dimming lets you adjust two areas independently.

Skip it and you get the MBUX Superscreen: three displays under one pane of glass. Standard cars swap the passenger screen for a digital trim panel you can fill with your own photos.

Up to eleven background styles are available, and the car coordinates around them — cluster colors, controls, and ambient lighting all shift to match.

New are Emotional Modes, selectable when parked. A crackling campfire fills the screen, or an aquarium with circling sharks. Pick the fire and the heating comes on with it.

Overhead, the panoramic glass roof is standard. Optional SKY CONTROL splits it into nine zones that switch between clear and opaque, either by menu or by saying “Hey Mercedes, show me the stars.”

The seats are AGR-certified for back health. Seat kinetics shift cushion and backrest tilt on long drives, and Pinnacle Plus extends the massage function up the full seatback.
